This two day course introduces and explains the concepts used within the Analyst’s Notebook. Core elements such as Association Charting, Timeline Charting, Searching, Analysis and Importing are taught using exercises based on true-to-life networks and activity. This course is ideal for absolute beginners through as well as self-taught users looking to brush up on their skills.
This two-day course expands upon the skills taught in the Introductory Skills course. It teaches users how to create hybrid Association & Timeline Charts, Conditional Formatting, Complex Searching, Analytical Tools, Creating Templates and Complex Importing & Analysis. This course is ideal for analysts looking use Analyst’s Notebook at the next level, changing the way the program works to fit with their work and importing and analysing large and complex data sets.
This three day course builds on the skills learnt in the Introductory and Intermediate Skills courses. This course is recommended for Analysts who want to use Analyst’s Notebook to its utmost. This course provides skills in advanced manual charting, using Analyst’s Notebook in briefing presentations, importing using data transformations, advanced analytical functions including network connections, cluster analysis and social network analysis, and advanced telephone call analysis.
This one-day course is for users of Analyst’s Notebook 8 who are upgrading to Analyst’s Notebook 9. It introduces and explains the updated Version 9 interface, including the new Ribbon tool bars. The course also introduces some of the new features including Find Connecting Network, the Grouped Theme Line layout and Copy to New Chart. A must for any experienced Version 8 user looking to update their skills.
This 2½ day iBase User course teaches how IBM i2 iBase is structured and how to navigate to various functions in iBase. Learn how to Find, View, Edit and Delete Entities and Links in iBase as well as search across multiple entities using the various search functions. The course also provides skills in charting iBase entities in Analyst’s Notebook, create and run structured queries, using Scored Matching to identify likely suspects, send entities to Geo Spatial programs, create and run iBase Reports and create Alerts. The course also teaches students how to create and run imports and exports of data to maximise the speed at which iBase can ingest data for analysis.
This 2 ½ day iBase Designer course teaches participants how to create an iBase database using iBase Designer. Over the two and a half days, participants will be learn how to create a database model, use such a model to create entities, links, fields, pick lists and attributes for an iBase database. Users will then be shown how to maximise the user-friendliness of the database be creating labelling schemes, datasheets and search indices. Users will also be shown how to ensure iBase works seamlessly with other programs such as Analyst’s Notebook and GIS software by creating Charting Templates, Charting Schemes and GIS Schemes. And finally, users will be taught how to use iBase security framework to ensure the safe and secure operation of the database. This course is recommended for anyone who will be building or administering an iBase database.
This two day course will teach participants various methods of cleansing data using the different Field Actions within iBase Import. This course is aimed at administrators or those who are required to do a lot of importing and data cleansing in order to reduce the amount of duplicated data or incorrect linkage during imports into iBase.
Analytical Investigation Methods (AIM)
This five day course is targeted at analysts and investigators who require knowledge in the essential analytical techniques to investigate complex criminal activity. New and experienced analysts and investigators will benefit from the course. This course is articulated with Queensland University of Technology – however if combined with the Anacapa Sciences – Financial Investigation Methods (FMA) qualifies for articulation with Charles Sturt University.
Criminal Intelligence Analysis (CIA)
The ten day course is targeted at dedicated analysts and investigators fulfilling an intelligence role within their organisation. The course provides those essential practical skills and knowledge required in the effective analysis of information relative to complex criminal activity. New and experienced analysts alike will benefit. The course covers the content of the Anacapa Sciences – Analytical Investigation Methods (AIM) combined with modules in Statistical Analysis and Psychology of Analysis. The course is articulated with Charles Sturt University, and Queensland University of Technology.
Finance Manipulation Analysis (FMA)
This five day course is for investigators and analysts who despite not being accountants are required to analyse complex financial manipulations designed to disguise money gained from illegal activities. The techniques focus on practical skills in order to discover, understand and communicate activities involving financial manipulation. The course examines the typical subversion of business structures, financial systems, and other methods to facilitate money laundering, counter terrorist funding and fraud matters. This course if combined with the Anacapa Sciences – Analytical Investigation Methods (AIM) qualifies for the articulation with Charles Sturt University, and Queensland University of Technology.
Intelligence Analysis (IA)
This ten day course is for dedicated analysts and investigators with a primary role in intelligence within their organisation. The course combines the subject material of the Anacapa Sciences – Analytical Investigation Methods (AIM) and the Anacapa Sciences – Financial Investigation Methods (FMA), as well as Statistical Analysis, Intelligence Report Writing and Critical Thinking. New and Experienced Analysts will benefit from this comprehensive course. The course is articulated with Charles Sturt University, and Queensland University of Technology.
